项目概述

Students fly together to 哥斯达黎加. 哥斯达黎加 is a rugged, forested Central American country with coastlines on the Caribbean and Pacific. Though its capital, San Jose, is home to cultural institutions like the 前哥伦布时期的黄金博物馆, 哥斯达黎加 is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity. Roughly a quarter of its area is made up of protected jungle, teeming with wildlife including spider monkeys and quetzal birds.

Student travel for two weeks in 哥斯达黎加 through different regions of the country, 包括主的, Guanacaste萨拉皮基. 哥斯达黎加 is a fairly small country and supports a remarkable diversity of different types of ecosystems.

Students will explore rainforests, 热带落叶林, 活跃的火山, 红树沼泽, 和河流. Students watch a mother sloth nurse its baby, hold tree frogs smaller than houseflies, 触摸吃水果的蝙蝠. The adventure also includes snorkeling, hiking for amphibians at night and white-water rafting.

The experiences lead to a better appreciation of how interesting and beautiful natural, intact tropical forests can be.

Following the program, students return to Michigan from 哥斯达黎加.
